The Devil Dog Post is a publication about life in the Marine Corps, the funny parts, the frustrating parts, the absurd parts, and occasionally, the parts that make you wonder why you signed the contract.

It’s about the moments that happen somewhere between the first call and liberty. The friendships formed during miserable PT. The strange logic of looking busy when there’s nothing to do. The traditions nobody remembers starting. The conversations that happen in the bricks. The little victories, questionable decisions, and everyday situations that somehow become the stories you remember.

We write columns about the things Marines experience but rarely stop to question, because sometimes the funniest part of the Corps is simply asking why.

I couldn’t help but wonder… Why do we do the things we do?

We share stories about the moments that make Marine life what it is, some ridiculous, some relatable, and some that are probably better left off the duty log.

And somewhere between the sarcasm and the stories, there’s something else: a record of what it actually feels like to be a Marine.

The Devil Dog Post isn't here to tell you how to be a better Marine. There are already plenty of people with that job.

We're here to notice the things they don't.

Because behind every uniform is a person. And behind every person is a story, an opinion, a bad decision, and probably a story about getting smoked for something that still doesn't make sense.
